Fall knits, apple cake and books

Just finished my Oatmeal Pullover in Quince & Co 's Puffin. Love this sweater and this yarn! Such a fast knit and comfy, squishy, warm yarn. Although I did not at first intend to knit it in this ever so popular Carrie's Yellow, when I saw it in the shop, I could not resist...

Also in time for fall, I finished this plain and simple knit scarf in Rowan British Sheep Breeds Chunky Undyed- Steel Grey Suffolk. Beautiful wool!

I have also been busy preparing some little quilted gifts with this lovely fabric...

In the kitchen, we have been preserving more applesauce and spiced apple butter sweetened with honey...

We also baked an apple cake using Nicole's recipe (only replacing the sugar with honey) and read one of our favourite books for fall....

The Apple Cake is a beautifully illustrated book about giving and receiving. Ce livre existe aussi en français mais il est difficile à trouver...

Un autre livre d'automne pour tout-petits avec de belles illustrations  J'aime les pommes

While on the subject of fall reading for children, another one of our favourite books is this magical story that reminds us of our own little Pip...

As we say goodbye to September and hello to October, I leave you with some pictures of the beautiful weather we have enjoyed over the past month.
