Hi Emma, I'm glad to hear that you are still enjoying Claire Mowat's book. I have not yet read "The Outport People" but it's on my reading list... Our ferry is no longer the L. M. M. It's probably a little more comfortable now, carrying many passengers in summer, but still a long 5-hour crossing. It's the price to pay to get to enjoy these beautiful, remote and well preserved (nature) islands!
