Feeding Our Families: August-September

Such a busy kitchen this time of year…

dilly beans and peach jam (both recipes from this book)

wild blueberries, bay leaves and chanterelles

zucchini everything! (my favourite zucchini cake recipe found here,  only I use a little less sugar and this one I baked into loaves)

Visiting Entry Island - Visite à l'Ile d'Entrée

Yesterday, a friend took us on his boat to visit to Entry Island

we climbed Big Hill and the view was spectacular

nous avons monté jusqu'en haut de la Big Hill et la vue était spectaculaire

Summer Camp - Camp d'été

Last week was the end of summer day camp for the girls.

Lucie and Pippa, along with their friends, put on a shadow puppet show to show us (parents) the amazing puppets that they had been working on all summer during art camp. The theme was "Pippi Longstocking".

La semaine dernière les camps de jour des filles ont pris fin.

Lucie, Pippa et leurs amis ont présenté une pièce de théâtre d'ombres chinoises aux parents, pour montrer les impressionnantes marionnettes qu'ils ont fabriquées tout au long de l'été durant leur camp d'art. Le thème était "Fifi Brindacier".
