I'm still working on my sweater for Sacha in Three Irish Girls Lindon Merino (Birch) and I have just started and already almost finished Travels with Farley: a memoir by Claire Mowat, wife of Farley Mowat. I cannot put this book down! I have had it waiting on my bookshelf for ages and finally just this week got around to reading it. This book recounts the Mowats' experiences living in the Magdalen Islands during the 1970s. The descriptions are wonderful and it's interesting for me, living on these islands today, to realize how much has changed and how much is still the same. Their sense of adventure and love of nature is awe-inspiring. Such a fascinating read!
We are a Waldorf-inspired homeschooling family living in the beautiful windswept Magdalen Islands. This is a record of the beauty and joy that fill our days. Thank you for visiting!

I am now definitely addicted to knitting shawls! What better way could there be to show off and wrap yourself in beautiful yarn... As soon as I finished my Mara, I immediately started working on a another shawl, this time in Fleece Artist Goldielocks, following this simple method. You simply cast on 3 stitches and knit every row, increasing (knit front and back) of the first stitch (beginning of each row).

I sewed a bag as a gift for a friend. I love this Anna Maria Horner fabric.
I'm now working on a sweater for Sacha in Three Irish Girls Lindon Merino (Winter Birch).
Happy crafting on!

Around the House - Autour de la maison
Hours spent searching for snails...
Des heures passées à chercher des escargots...
and building them a safe home, away from giant human footsteps... My children have such compassion for these little creatures!
Fresh cut flowers are starting to fill the house. This is my favourite part of spring and summer.
The children love to please me by bringing me beautiful bouquets...

This Week - Cette semaine
Some highlights of our week...
Quelques moments forts de notre semaine...
eerie evening fog
mystérieuse brume le soir
weeding every day (I don't know if we will manage to keep this rhythm all summer)
baking with rhubarb from the garden
gâteaux à la rhubarbe du jardin
A very busy little fellow (as you can tell from the blurry pictures). He has now gone from slithering on his tummy to crawling on his knees (the first of my children to crawl this way!). He is going from hands and knees to sitting and back down again. Such a strong and determined little boy!
